Iupui Roommate Agreement

This Agreement shall remain in force from (date) to (date). As part of a monthly rental, each roommate must notify the other roommate and the landlord for thirty days in writing and/or verbally in advance or as otherwise agreed if the roommate moves before the above date. The roommate can leave if a replacement roommate is found and is acceptable to the remaining roommate(s) and the landlord and when the subletting is concluded. Each roommate is primarily responsible for finding their own replacement tenant. If you have received payment confirmation from PayPal but have not received a confirmation email to your university email address, please contact our office: 317.274.7200 or reslife@iupui.edu food can be purchased from any roommate. There can be no loan of food without prior authorization. A separate room is provided for each person`s food. Joint preparation and cleaning of meals is optional. A daily audit is performed to verify payments and complete all requests that have not been completed automatically.

You can check in at the Housing Service Center 24 hours after making your payment and it must be marked as complete. You can also forward the payment confirmation of PayPal to reslife@iupui.edu and our staff can confirm and complete your request. 40. Your accommodation costs will be charged in full per semester. You will receive your invoice directly from the administrator`s office and he will be responsible for making payments in a timely manner according to the administrator`s due dates, with your accommodation costs being paid in full before the mid-term review period. Non-payment in accordance with the administrator`s due dates may result in penalties and/or measures as defined by the administrator. Information on administrators is available online at bursar.iupui.edu. The landlord should be informed of any upcoming roommate changes so that reasonable precautions can be taken.

The Office of Housing and Residential Living is made up of professionals and students who are committed to ensuring that you live in a comfortable and safe environment conducive to your social and academic success at IUPUI. Below is a brief description of the structure of our team. A complete directory of our professional staff can be found online in the « About » section under housing.iupui.edu. 25M Order requests based on ADA hosting must be requested through Adaptive Educational Services (aes.iupui.edu) and are subject to availability. If you are under the age of 18 at the time of signing your housing contract, you must have a parent/guardian who also fulfills a housing contract. Your parents/guardians will receive an email with a link to complete their agreement in approximately one hour after submitting your housing agreement and receiving your contract confirmation email in your university email account. By following the steps above, you will maximize your chances of being accommodated with your jointly requested roommate. There are times when availability prevents any roommate request from matching, but our team strives to accommodate roommate requests that follow the steps above. After receiving the email notification from your parents/guardians, you can view your accommodation contract via the link provided.

Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure that your agreement is properly linked to your student. Your agreement must be completed within ten days of receiving the email notification, or your student`s accommodation agreement may be considered invalid. The residence and residence contract and the right of use are neither transferable nor assignable. The transfer of the assignment to siblings, children, extended family members or other persons is not permitted and will result in termination of the contract, fines and/or disciplinary measures deemed appropriate by the Office of Housing and Residential Living. Persons other than those who are in the contractual agreement or who are registered and registered with the Office of Housing and Residential Life may not occupy the premises permanently or semi-permanently. Detailed supporting documents must be attached to your application for release. The room change process opens the first week of classes. You can request a change of room by filling out the form on our website: housing.iupui.edu/hsc. If you have any problems in your apartment, you should also contact your RA or RC to work through the mediation process for roommates. Room changes may include requests for changes in a free space. If residents want to exchange rooms with each other, they should talk to the housing coordinator of the building to which they are assigned. The contract offer process begins at the end of March* and offers are created based on the application date, with offers from the residential learning community being published first. As soon as the quotation process begins, contract offers are uploaded to the Housing Services Centre every Thursday. You will receive an email at your university to let you know when your offer is ready to be viewed. Be sure to add reslife@iupui.edu to your contacts so that your notification email is not moved to your junk folder. Roommates work together at a certain time to accomplish the above tasks.

Our staff at Residence Life are trained on how best to help you have a positive relationship between roommates, and they have tools to help you succeed. Start your new roommate relationship with an open mind and a willingness to communicate, and contact your resident assistant if needed for help on complex or sensitive issues, and our team can help you in this conversation. Over the past few years, we`ve taken a closer look at what behaviors create an environment conducive to successful colocation experiences. Based on feedback from our own residents, we found that roommates who deliberately interact with each other 3 times a week, recognize each other daily, and make friendships outside of roommate couples have a much higher satisfaction score. The Office of Housing and Residential Living has taken this information and created a curriculum for the first six weeks that prepares roommates to succeed in order to create a positive foundation for the development of these skills. Each of the activities of the first six weeks is structured around one or more of the positive effect behaviors. .
